Hello Dr. Del Junco,Patricia and Staff:
Just wanted to let all of you know that I am still doing great! I can not believe that it has been three years since my surgery. My days are so full and it is like a bad dream when I think of all the pain and suffering that I use to have. I
have just had my yearly exam and everything is fine. I am so happy that I found all of you and especially you Dr.Del Junco. I have had the priviledge to talk to several women about my experience and many have chosen to have F.A.S. and are happy that they too chose this course of treatment. Anyone that reads this message should not be afraid to take this step to gain back their life. I am still available to help in any way I can to assist ones to take this step to help them gain back their lives. I know that women that may read this are wondering if there is another doctor in their area that can do what Dr.Del Junco does, but there isn’t anyone but him that does this unique surgery in the whole world. And when you think about it, it doesn’t have to be that way, because if other Doctors cared to learn this techique they could from Dr.del Junco but they take the easier route and perform hysterectomies, myomectomies which can led to other problems. So take the step you will not regret it.
I look forward to having many more years of good health. Again thanks to all Dr. Del Junco’s staff at the office,at Temple Hospital,to Patricia, and to Dr. Del Junco. A Friend, LaVieta

Dear LaVieta,
i am suffering from uterine fibroids and finally came to terms (after almost 2years) that i’ll need surgery. of course, every doctor here in florida wants my uterus out! i have several fibroids (is all theyll say) 13cm, 6cm and smaller.

i just started my job almost 4months now. i’m finding it difficult to tell them that i’ll have to leave for 3 weeks. also, i dont know where i will be able to stay for 2 weeks in california and who can accompany me thru this ordeal.

i quess i’m needing further encouragment. but, basically, from what i’ve read on this website, I’M READY!! ive been a VERY healthy and active person all my life.. however, for 2 years ive not been myself, unhappy, un-active, cant get into my clothes, watching my life go by. ive not been able to date, very insecure…
i would love to corresponde with someone about FAS, the doctor and the experience.

Dear Kokoa –

There are all kinds of hotels in Glendale, and you may not even need someone with you all the time. I was by myself there for 2 weeks, except for the 5 days in the hospital, when a friend joined me. I had a great time, recovering, taking walks every day, shopping…FAS is not a hysterectomy!! The healing process is much faster, because you are not removing an organ, forcing the body to adjust to all kinds of shortcuts. You have to take it easy, of course, but you will not be handicapped!

Depending on the type of work you do, you may able to work part time for a while and keep your benefits. If your company offers short-term disability, then you can organize your finances so that you won’t have to be w/o income for the duration of your leave. The HR usually coordinates all these aspects, so you can recuperate.

Look at the postings I have on this website under “Michaela” and you’ll see how you can go by yourself and not be afraid. You may also email me privately if you prefer.

Good luck!

Mica
