Large Fibroid

I have a very large fibroid on the outside of my uterus that my doctor has been monitoring in 6 month intervals for almost 7 years now. In the past year my fibroid had a growth spurt and grew to 9.4 x 7.6 x 9.2cm. My doctor expressed concern and wanted to remove it. After receiving a second opinion, I decided to leave it alone and wait and see if it increases in size. The only symptom that I have is the large bulge in my abdomen. My periods are normal. I’ve researched alternative therapies, changed my diet to strictly organic foods and I am now seeing an acupuncturist weekly who says she has reduced fibroid size in the past. I’ve had about 3 months of acupuncture now and I feel as though it may have grown, although I really can’t tell for sure. I’m 33 years old and very concerned as I do want to have children one day and was told by my OB/GYN that most non-invasive procedures cannot be used because they can’t guarantee preservation of the uterous. Given that I have no major symptoms, do you feel I should explore the FAS procedure now or wait it out?

Hi Melissa-
Fibroid tumors grow with every change in hormones and monthly cycles. Occasionally, we have seen accupuncture, diet and exercise help slow down the growth for a time, but eventually they begin to grow again if the patient is not in menopause. The longer you leave the tumors the greater the chance of damage to the organ and possible infertility.
We would recommend surgery as soon as possible.

Dr del Junco Jr I have seen about your services and experience of women who have similar problem like me. It stirs my interst to get further information of the expenses of doing a surgery. I have multiple big fibroids that make me looks like am three months pregnant. I am 38 and have no children and would like to have one. But my doctors recommend that my uterus be removed and I don’t want it to be removed. I’m still a virgin at 38 and would like to keep my uterus. Please let me know what you can do to help me. I would like to know the cost in detail for all expenses that will incur for a surgery to be done wihtout removal of the uterus. I appreciate a prompt reply please. I am deperate in need of your help. God bless you and continue your good work.
