In most everything I ready about fibroids the symptoms of heavy periods and cramping seem to be the biggest problem. I have fibroids as well as the heavy bleeding and cramping, but the main reason I’m considering a myomectomy is because the biggest problem I have is urinary incontinence. I’m told my uterus is the size of a woman 3 months pregnant and that I have one fibroid pressing on my bladder. The incontinence problem has been increasing over the years as the fibroids grow. I have been to several the urology doctors, had all the tests, and there is nothing wrong – so it really is the heavy uterus pressing on my bladder. (I also do kegel excercises). My questions, though, are: How come you don’t read about this as one of the problems of fibroids. How common are urinary problems as a result of fibroids (enlarged uterus)? What is your experience in urinary problems being “cured” or helped by the removal of fibroids? |
