For over a decade the Institute has advocated treating fibroid tumors (also called fibroids), endometriosis, adenomyosis and ovarian cysts by removing only the fibroids or affected portion of the organ involved. We do not perform hysterectomy or oophorectomy (removal of ovaries) for fibroids or any of these conditions regardless of size, number or location of any fibroid tumors.

“A hysterectomy for benign fibroid tumors or ovarian cysts is an
archaic procedure from traditional medicine and lacks a sensitivity
to the needs of the female patient. It is likened to castration, in that it unnecessarily removes the female reproductive organs.”

This web site is dedicated to educating you about an alternative to hysterectomy; a proven procedure that uses state of the art laser surgical techniques called Female Alternative Surgery (FAS) for fibroids, endometriosis and other diseases of the uterus. Please visit The Education Center for more information.
The resources on this site are here to help a woman and those close to her make the most informed choice possible about how to heal her body. If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with fibroids, endometriosis or any other disease described above and a hysterectomy has been recommended, you will learn more about FAS and what questions to ask your doctor to gather the most information.
