I Have a Hard lump on the left side in the ovarie area, Doctors are unsure if this is my ovarie or not because it is rather pretuding. The size of this lump is like the size of a golf ball and becomes slightly more increased in size when i’m on my periods? I look 6months pregrant and my periods are becoming more painful and heavier. Other symptons include painful sex, lower abdomen pain, Lower back pain, very lethargic and the desire to pass urine more frequent. My bowel activity is very poor, bowel movement comes with sharp pains where my womb is in general. My Doctor thinks this could be endo or possibly just an inflamed ovarie please help as im getting no where, this is causing me great distress as im only 22years old and recently had abnormal smear test results? what could this be?

Dear Lesleyanne-
I would recommend an MRI to evaluate the ovary further..you did not mention any diagnostic testing. Your other symptoms may be associated with Adenomyosis, which is uterine endometriosis.
This disease will enlarge the uterus, and produce all your other symptoms. It may show up on MRI, but often requires tissue sampling for a firm diagnosis.
Also, if your pap came back abnormal..that should be addressed immediately.
Good luck
