Discover How the FAS Technique Provides an Alternative to Hysterectomy for Women Suffering from Fibroids

Schedule Your Complimentary Consultation

With over 600,000 hysterectomies being performed each year in the United States, two thirds of those are for non-cancerous conditions. This means that almost 400,000 hysterectomies are performed each year that are potentially not needed.

This has led to a myriad of treatments for patients with non-cancerous uterine fibroids in an attempt to provide alternatives for women who want to avoid a hysterectomy.

Treatments such as Embolization, Standard Myomectomies, Ablation, and Hormonal Therapy are popular and recommended by many gynecologists. However these treatments are only effective in limited cases and have high recurrence rates.

Most Procedures Only Treat The Symptoms, Not the Disease.

Introducing The FAS Technique

The FAS technique is an innovative and highly effective approach to the treatment of fibroid tumor disease. It successfully preserves the uterus no matter the size, number or location of fibroids, and can treat other female diseases like adenomyosis, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and uterine prolapse.

FAS is a bloodless open surgical procedure that uses both vascular surgical techniques, lasers and uterine reconstruction to accomplish the goal of removing fibroids without hysterectomy.

We have successfully removed over 500 tumors from one patient as seen in the video below.

No Consent to Hysterectomy, EVER

While many doctors look at the uterus as "just an organ of reproduction", you know it is much more than that. Women are realizing there is a mind body connection to the uterus and its importance goes beyond just fertility.

With the FAS technique, you will have peace of mind knowing that your surgery is being performed by doctors who understand and appreciate your philosophy. Our surgeons have the training and experience to deliver your desired outcome of safely removing your fibroids without the frightening reality of a hysterectomy.

Having surgery with the FAS technique will reassure you that you have made the right decision to save your uterus!!

Bloodless Procedure

Rest easy knowing that with the FAS technique, you are avoiding the potential complications of significant blood loss that could create the need for a blood transfusion during surgery. Transfusions carry multiple risks including the exposure to Hepatitis and/or HIV.

For patients with religious beliefs and/or personal preferences against blood transfusion, the FAS technique will not compromise your ideology.

Option to Stay Awake During Surgery

Unlike other surgical programs, we offer multiple ways to give anesthesia during surgery.

First and most common is General anesthesia where you go to sleep.

This can create unnecessary stress for many patients where their fear can delay the decision to have surgery.

For this reason, we also offer anesthesia via an epidural. .. where you can remain awake during the surgery. This can help reduce some of the emotional stress related to the surgery, and can also prevent some of the early recovery symptoms of bloating, gas and difficulty breathing.

Epidural also permits an opportunity to watch a video monitor and experience your surgery first hand, if you so choose. This type of live viewing is not done anywhere else in the country.

Finally, if you do not want to go fully to sleep, but are worried about remaining fully awake, we offer an epidural anesthesia with relaxing sedation. Most women opt for this choice and can comfortably make it through surgery with minimal or no anxiety.

We do our best to offer multiple approaches to help accommodate your every need.

Treat other illness during surgery

Over 50% of women who are diagnosed with Fibroids also have other diseases such as adenomyosis, endometriosis and ovarian cysts. If discovered during surgery, we are fully prepared to treat these conditions at that time, even when they are not diagnosed before.

Your fear of future procedures is virtually eliminated with FAS because our team has the experience and skill to address and treat any female condition during this one surgery.

Mini Tummy Tuck with Bikini Incision

We know the importance of minimizing an abdominal scar for all women .... the less scar the better! That is why almost 90% of all our patients receive a bikini (horizontal) incision.

As an added bonus, we offer you the option of a "mini tummy tuck" to help reduce potential post fibroid bulge.

Adhesion Reduction

After everything you have gone through to cure your fibroid disease, the last thing you want is to continue to have pain after surgery because of adhesion in the abdomen. That is why we employ a special combination of techniques such as irrigating fluids, wrapping a special absorbable material around the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tube, and finally applying an absorbable gelatin to separate the organs significantly reducing the chance of adhesions.

Postoperative Ultrasound Therapy

The FAS technique uses a combination of abdominal ultrasound and TENS therapy during the immediate post-operative phase. This not only enhances your healing but can improve blood flow, reduce swelling and bloating and help reduce surgical pain.

A family member can stay in the hospital

Going to the hospital for any reason can be a stressful and sometimes traumatic experience. That is why we allow and encourage a loved one stay with you. You will never be alone and have someone there to talk to and experience this journey with you. Having a loved one stay in the hospital with you can decrease and stress recovery time.

FAS treats the disease, not just the symptoms

I just wanted you to know that the quality of my life has improved dramatically. I’m able to enjoy life so much more now. No more heavy periods or sluggish feeling.

My entire family says I’m so much happier and my mood is so much more positive now. I’m even able to perform so much better on my job. I’m considering applying for a new position because I know I can perform at a high level now. I’m so happy that I had the surgery.

If anyone is on the fence about waiting to have surgery with Dr. del Junco Jr. please encourage them to go ahead and improve their quality of life.

CW Resides: California

At 36 I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Because of the large size of them and my desire not to have blood during the procedure, I was told by my physician I would require a hysterectomy because a myomectomy would be too risky. Although I have no desire to have children, I thought this was a bit extreme considering my age. I found Dr. del Junco Jr. doing an Internet search for alternative treatments.

Choosing to have treatment with him turned out to be the best decision. His entire philosophy not only on the surgery but the aftercare is so different from anything else out there (completely bloodless surgery and no waivers for hysterectomy to name just a couple).

My entire family was amazed at how quickly I was mobile and moving on my own. I feel great and am so glad I found Dr. del Junco Jr.. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
