Fibroid Tumors I am confused, Please help…

Hi , I am only 24 years old, recently married Indian girl. I have been dianosed to have uterus of size (10.3*7.4*5.2 cm) with 5-7 fiboids, with largest of length 3.1*2.9mm in size. These are intramural and subserous in nature.
I am settled in UK now.I don’t want to have children until next 2 years because I want to devote my time in making my career before.
I need very genuine advise from anybody there..
Can I go on without any treatment for fibroids until I could have a child, and then try for some surgical procedure which could keep my uterus intact?
Can I try for some medicine to keep control on these tumors?
I am very scared to have this disease in this young age.I have always been a very active and hard working person and I don’t want to lose my health by any means.
Beacuse of age, would I have these tumors reoccurring , even after some sort of treatment like FAS?
I want to have very clear picture of my case.
Fortunately, I don’t have any symptoms because of these tumors as yet..
please advise….
Thanks..
Mandy.

Dear Mandy-
Many women are able to have children with fibroid tumors. It depends on their size and location. We usually recommend removing the disease because the longer you leave them untreated, the larger in size they will become and the more symptoms you will experience. IF you want children, we would recommend having your fibroids removed and not delaying treatment, especially with someone as young as you are.

With most traditional myomectomies ALL the tumors are not removed…many of the deeper and larger fibroids cannot be accessed…this produces the need for future surgery eventually. FAS removes ALL the tumors we can find..we do not leave any regardless of location deep in the uterus. Recurrence is extremely low…less than 1%.
Many women try herbs and low fat diets to help with symptoms, but this only delays necessary treatment.
We would recommend having surgery.
Good Luck
