Embolization for Fibroids

Hi Dr.
I am 42 years old.I had embolization last year for fibroids. I no longer have heavy and prolonged bleeding. But I still have a large fibroid that is pressing into my cervial area. Could I still have FAM even though I had previously had emobolization?

Dear Karen-
Yours is a classic case as to why we do not often recommend UAE. That procedure will treat bothersome symptoms, but does not effectively treat the disease long term in our opinion. You need to have your multiple tumors surgically removed…we have operated on several patients post UAE with great success. Give my office a call to discuss
