Fibroid tumors and Adenomyosis

Almost 20 year history of fibroids. Most significant complaints were pelvic pain, bloating, abdominal pressure and fatigue. Findings at surgery included 134 fibroids, 2 fibroid tumors within the endometrial cavity, and adenomyosis.

Chief complaint of abdominal pain and pressure. Patient’s last normal menstrual period was at age 48. She refused a hysterectomy, but was told this was her only option since the fibroid was too large to remove and preserve the uterus.

Chief complaint of very heavy periods, lasting 10-12 days with large blood clots.
History of fibroid tumors since the age of 20.
This case demonstrates a combination of both fibroids (138 removed) and adenomyosis
