Recovery was a breeze for me! I have had virtually no pain, and felt pretty much euphoric for the first three weeks post-surgery! My pre-surgery symptoms were few (pressure and obstruction of my bladder & absent sex drive), and although I could feel I had a large tumor (18 cm), I foolishly put off any surgery. Of course, I did not know how big the tumors were or how many of them I had, until I watched the surgery. Although I "only" had a total of 22 tumors, most of which were tiny, Dr. del Junco also found and successfully removed an ovarian cyst, endometriosis and adenomyosis, and discovered a thyroid condition, all of which I had no idea I had! I have felt so amazing on all levels, and grateful to Dr. del Junco and the entire staff at FAS and the hospital. They made the whole experience easy and as pleasurable as could possibly be! I now have an Extremely healthy & beautiful sex life with my partner and a renewed relationship of self-love and gratitude with my uterus and my entire body. For me, the whole experience- the preparation of the surgery, the surgery itself, and my continued recovery, has truly been a sacred rite of passage into womanhood, because I chose to participate in it actively, with love and self-care. Do not put off the surgery! It may be the best thing you ever do; it most certainly was for me.
