I’ve been going this one gyno office about 3 years. I’m 38 now and last year I had a period of heavy bleeding. I had one prior to this the year before but nothing like I experienced in July. The doctor did the tests (sono, blood) and put me on provera for simple hyperplasia. I also have been trying to lose weight and keep it off. I didn’t like the idea of being on this medicine but took it. My periods seemed fine, even if I stopped taking it a month or so. I went for a follow up in Feb for a uterine biopsy (for the simple hyperplasia). Well, the sono showed a cyst about 2 inches big. The dr. had me tested for ovarian cancer(it was negative). I was opposed to surgery (I feel I was handled poorly). The dr. said try birth control pills. I have not gotten my period so I can’t take the pill to possibly shrink the cyst. Well, I was supposed to see her April 1 for a follow up sono but I am switching to another practice. I know she is going to say get it out. (she is always pushing surgery. prior to finding the cyst she was pushing me for a d & c). I am so confused because I don’t think the cyst, though there, is why I am having these issues. (it is hormonal). What do you think?
