Supplement Center

I have spent the last 15 years working with women treating multiple benign female diseases by offering an alternative to hysterectomy. It has always been my philosophy that women’s health and their aging process be left to mother nature, allowing them to enter into that next phase of life as naturally as possible. Treating women of all ages, I have found that sometimes the disease process would effect their natural health either by the disease directly or indirectly causing hormonal imbalances, which can lead to premature menopausal symptoms, osteoporosis and sexual disturbances. Watching these women recovery from surgery, with increased energy levels, excited to get their life back, wanting to exercise again, it became very apparent to me that I needed to look deeper into the nutritional areas of their life. As a result, I have spent almost one year researching their nutritional and supplemental needs. I have found that a well balanced diet alone is not enough. Associated diseases like hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders and some gastrointestinal diseases effect the production of amino acids, vitamins, and how the body uses them. Drugs used to treat certain diseases can effect the production of some very important enzymes. For example, high cholesterol pills (statins) inhibits the production of CoQ10.

Women of different ages and activity levels have different nutritional needs. As they reach the next phase of life, Women not only do their bodies physically change, but the hormonal shifts cause physiological symptoms that can also effect their lifestyle, relationships with spouses, families and or significant others. In keeping with my philosophy of minimal to no hormonal replacement therapy to treat these symptoms, it has become equally important to research and develop products that will help alleviate some of these life altering symptoms without the increased risk of developing the female cancers (breast cancer, cervical, endometrial and ovarian cancers) or causing a recurrence of the benign diseases that we may have just treated (fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis).

So here we introduce the Institute’s first line of products and supplements specifically designed for women. The foundation of our products starts first with a high potency multi-vitamin/mineral compound. The quality, amount and ratios of the nutrients are based on a long history of clinical data and the newest research available. The 1-1 calcium to magnesium ratio, high potencies of vitamin E, C, D3 and B complexes, the bioactive forms of folate and vitamin B12 and a full compliment of trace elements distinguishes this formula from average Store brand multi vitamins. Our choice of calcium, distinguishes our product from the ordinary brands. There are many supplemental forms of calcium, some cheap, some costly. We use calcium citrate-malate, which is highly absorbable, while simultaneously being safe and well tolerated. About 40% more calcium is absorbed from calcium citrate-malate compared to calcium carbonate. We use this form of calcium in both our multivitamin and osteo support tablets.

We broke down our formulas into different support packs based primarily on activity levels. We also took into account their age and physiological needs. During my research, I found two important products, CoQ10 and L-Carnitine. Very important research as been done on both. CoQ10 has shown extreme benefits as it pertains to cardiac health, in particularly in the treatment of patients with congestive heart failure. It has also shown beneficial effects in slowing down the disease process in patients with Parkinsons.

L-Carnitine a very powerful endurance enhancer. It is a natural occurring amino acid which plays a vital role in the metabolism of fat. About 98% of our L-Carnitine supply resides in the bodies smooth muscle tissue like the heart. Triglycerides are the major source for the production of energy in the heart and skeletal muscle. L-Carnitine allows the body to burn more fat, save more glycogen and ultimately boost stamina and increase endurance. In the vitamin business, I could not find one supplemental pack that addressed women’s needs that would include both of these products together. They were usually sold separately. It was my goal to develop a line of products to address these specific needs and to include both products in one pack.

This was put together for women of any age understanding that these women have a full day of activities working, caring for children and home activities, traveling and exercising. This level of activity requires endurance and energy. This multi pack starts with a carefully designed multi vitamin. The cardiac support is addressed with CoQ10 and the ultra potent fish oil (Omega 3 Fatty Acid). To boost your energy level, increase endurance during the day, we have added L-Carnitine. Fitness and nutritional experts recommend L-Carnitine to anyone whose goal is to lose fat, build muscle or just want to improve their overall fitness level.

This formula was put together thinking of women 50, 60, 70 and even into their 80’s who are concerned with their overall health. In this group of women, their cardiac, joint and stiffness needs and osteoporosis concerns will be addressed. Again, we start with a carefully designed multivitamin, we add the powerful CoQ10 for cardiac concerns, the ever popular, sometimes called the “Miracle Pill“, ultra potent fish oil (Omega 3 Fatty Acid) which helps in reducing joint stiffness and tenderness, and lowers blood triglyceride levels. Finally, to address the concerns of osteoporosis, we add our osteo support tablet. We use calcium and Vitamin D to support bone mineral density, and magnesium to improve bone strength and remodeling.

It is also important to note that if you are taking high cholesterol medication (statins) you should supplement your diet with CoQ10. These drugs inhibit the production of CoQ10 by the liver.

As women move into the next physiological phase of life, many changes occur as a result of hormone fluxes. Significant research has shown the ill effects of hormone replacement, predominantly in the form of estrogen. In my 22 years of surgical practice, I have treated many cancers associated with women (breast, cervical, endometrial and ovarian). It has been established that long term (10 years) use of hormonal replacement increases the incidence of these disorders. It is also well documented, HRT (Hormone replacement therapy), increases the development of fibroid tumor disease, and increases the symptoms associated with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Henceforth, I have been against the use of HRT. I am very well aware that when women reach the menopausal years, symptoms can be difficult to tolerate. They effect lifestyle, relationships and need to be addressed. In formulating this product (Women’s Support capsule), we have used a combination of products that together achieve the balance we are looking for and yet minimize the estrogen effect as much as possible. Black Cohosh, Gamma Oryzanol and Sage have long been shown to suppress or eliminate the number of hot flashes and also improve mood swings and sleep patterns. Although black cohosh is not an herbal estrogen or substitute for estrogen it has similar effects to the female hormone. Hesperdine methylchalcone supports and protects the integrity of the vascular system. We also add our osteo support tablet to address the osteoporosis concerns often seen in this age group of women. Finally, our multi vitamin is added for general support. The goal again is to address those overbearing symptoms of night sweats, hot flashes, as gently and softly as possible. If in 30 days the number of hot flashes has not been satisfactorily addressed, we recommend adding an additional Women’s Support capsule to this pack.

In keeping with women’s health and nutrition, I am exploring and researching a formula to help address the most difficult disorder… Endometriosis. There has been ongoing research for many years on the potential effects of vitamin/herbal supplementation. My goal is to develop a formula that will aid in minimizing the troublesome symptoms of this disease. Fibroid tumor disease is another of the very problematic benign disorders that plaque women of all ages. It is the most common disease that leads to the highest unnecessary rate of hysterectomy. It is my goal to find a formula that will reduce the growth of fibroids, in turn reducing symptoms, in the early stages of the diagnosis. This may also be helpful in reducing the recurrence of tumors after myomectomy surgery.

Probiotics is another area of interest. Probiotics are beneficial living microorganisms that support healthy gastrointestinal and the immune system. They have also been shown to maintain or restore the genito-urinary micro flora producing a healthy acidic vaginal ph and support against colonization of yeast and bacteria.

It has always been our goal here at the Institute to offer women alternative therapies for a healthy lifestyle…we continue to strive for that goal. We hope these formulas will be a positive addition to your daily routines.
